I’ve just got back from three days and nights at the Formanova Festival in Fredericia.

It was pretty amazing; so many good bands, good food, good weather and nice people. Apart from the twats who woke me up at 6 this morning by throwing a chair at my tent.

Organised by my friend Lenni from Spoiled Milk, this was the festival’s fifth year and it’s well-known now as a showcase for up and coming and underground bands and electronica artists.

There were too many good acts to mention them all but the ones who stood out for me were:

Turboweekend – an awesome Danish three-piece who sound like Steely Dan would sound now if they started hanging round with synthy electro bands in shell suits.

Jape – an Irish band doing rather lovely uptempo indie and singing about graveyards.

pg lost – intense Swedes who grew up listening to Mogwai and watching Chocky.

Duracell – English dude living in France and playing drums like he’s on space crack.

Francois – I know I already blogged about this guy but he really is quite unique. If you only click one of these links, click this one.

As in RebekkaMaria – the lead singer with Lampshade played a wicked set on Thursday showcasing her nu-ravey solo material (with most of Lampshade helping out).

Snake and Jet – closed the festival with a bang with an impromptu rave-up in the train.

And now, i’m tired. I might update this post later with some more thoughts. In the meantime, here are some more pics.

Sov godt.
